The Carol Duvall Show cameras go on the road to get the scoop on Love Letters. Love Letters, a 15-year-old organization, sends handcrafted letters, cards, and gifts to sick children. Typically, hospitalized children receive a lot of mail but once they go home, though they're still ill, the mail tends to stop. Love Letters steps in to fill the void. Love Letters sends out mailings every week to kids all across the country. Everything they send is primarily handmade. The core group works in an office outside of Chicago, using donated crafts supplies and stamps, but branches of Love Letters can be found nationwide. Some of the volunteers are past recipients of Love Letters that want to give back to other kids in need of attention.
