Dawn Sayelle (3 oz. skein), a yarn made of 100% Monsanto Acrylic Fiber
10 skeins #319 Off White
5 skeins #469 Rosewine
5 skeins #338 Teal
crochet hook, size I, or size required to crochet to gauge.
Size: About 52" x 65"
Gauge: 7dc = 2" Large Square = 10" x 10"
Large Square:
Make 32. With Rosewine, ch 5 and join with sl st to form a ring.
Rnd 1: (Sl st in ring, 2 tr in ring) 4 times, join with sl st to first sl st-4 petals.
Rnd 2: Pushing petals to front of work (ch 2, sl st in next sl st between petals) 3 times, ch 2, sl st in next sl st-4 ch-2 loops.
Rnd 3: * Sl st in next ch-2, ch 2, in same ch-2 work (3 tr, sl st, ch 2, 3 tr, and sl st); repeat from * around, join with sl st in first sl st-8 petals.
Rnd 4: Pushing petals to front, * ch 2, skip 3 tr, sl st in between 3-tr groups; repeat from * around, end ch 2, join with sl st to first sl st-8 ch-2 loops.
Rnd 5: * Sl st in next ch-2, in same ch-2 work 4 tr and sl st; repeat from * around, join-8 petals.
Rnd 6: Pushing petals to front, * ch 3, sl st in sl st between next two petals; repeat from * around, end ch 3, join-8 ch-3 loops.
Cut yarn.
Rnd 7: Join Off White in any ch-3, ch 3 for first dc, in same ch-3 work 4 dc, ch 2, and 5 dc (starting corner), * 3 dc in next ch-3, in next ch-3 work 5 dc, ch 2, and 5 dc (corner completed); repeat from * 2 times more, end 3 dc in last ch-3, join.
Rnd 8: Ch 3 for first dc, * dc in each dc to corner, in corner work 2 dc, ch 2, and 2 dc; repeat from * around, end dc in each dc across last side, join.
Rnd 9: Sl st in next dc, ch 4 for first dc and ch 1, (skip next dc, dc in next dc, ch 1) 2 times, * in ch-2 corner work dc, ch 3, and dc **, (ch 1, skip 1 dc, dc in next dc) 8 times, ch 1; repeat from * around, end last repeat at **, working across last side, (ch 1, skip 1 dc, dc in next dc) 5 times, ch 1, join to 3rd ch of starting ch-4.
Rnd 10: Ch 4 for first dc and ch 1, (dc in next dc, ch 1) 3 times, * in corner work dc, ch 3, and dc **, (ch 1, dc in next dc) 10 times, ch 1; repeat from * around, end last repeat at **, working across last side, (ch 1, dc in next dc) 6 times, ch 1, join to 3rd ch of starting ch-4.
Rnd 11: Sl st in next ch-1, ch 3 for first dc, dc in same ch-1, (2 dc in next ch-1) 3 times, * in corner work 2 dc, ch 2, and 2 dc, (2 dc in next ch-1) to corner; repeat from * around as established, join. Cut yarn.
Rnd 12: Join Teal in any corner, * 3 sc in corner, sc in each dc to next corner; repeat from * around. Join and fasten off.
Small Square:
Make 14. With Off White, ch 4 and join with sl st to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 4 for first dc and ch 1, (dc in ring, ch 1) 7 times, join with sl st to 3rd ch of starting ch-4-8 spokes.
Rnd 2: Ch 6 for first dc and ch 3, dc in same st (starting corner), * ch 1, dc in next dc, ch 1, in next dc work dc, ch 3, and dc (corner); repeat from * 2 times more, ch 1, dc in next dc, ch 1, join to 3rd ch of starting ch-6.
Rnd 3: Sl st in ch-3 corner, ch 3 for first dc, in same corner work dc, ch 2, and 2 dc, * (2 dc in next ch-1) 2 times **, in corner work 2 dc, ch 2, and 2 dc; repeat from * around, end last repeat at **, join. Cut yarn.
Rnd 4: Join Teal in any corner, * 3 sc in corner, sc in each dc to next corner, repeat from * around, join.
Fasten off.
Finishing:
Following Diagram, sew Squares together. Leaves: Make 64. With Teal, ch 10. Sl st in 3rd ch from hook, sc in next ch, * hdc in next ch, dc in 3 ch, hdc in next ch *, in next ch work sc, ch 1, and sc; turn to work across opposite side of ch; repeat from * to *, sc in next ch, sl st in next ch. Cut yarn leaving 6 end for sewing. Sew two leaves in place on each Large Square as follows: Arrange Leaves on opposite sides of flower (with leaves pointing to corners of Square); on each Square Leaves should be parallel to short edges of afghan. Tassels: Make 14. Wind Teal around 6-inches cardboard 20 times. Center 10-inch length of Teal at top of bundle and tie securely; cut opposite end. About 1-inch below top tie, wrap a length of Teal around bundle several times and knot tightly to secure. Tie a tassel to each point across short edges of afghan.
