Figure A
Host Carol Duvall demonstrates a rubber stamping technique called masking, in which one stamped image appears as though it is behind another image. In other words, the second stamp that is stamped on a page is the one that will appear to be in the background. The "mask" in this case is a Post-It note.

Materials:

2 rubber stamp designs
paper
Post-It note
scissors

Steps:
  1. Stamp a single image on the page.
  2. Using the same rubber stamp, stamp the image again, but this time onto a Post-It note (figure A). Make sure the sticky part of the note is underneath the stamped image.
  3. Cut the stamped design out of the note and create a "mask" by sticking it precisely over the original stamped design.
  4. Stamp another design so that part of the image goes onto the note and the rest gets stamped onto the paper.
  5. Peel off the note, and you should have an image that looks like it's behind the first.
  6. Emboss and color in the design as desired.
