Napkins

1. Cut a square of solid-colored fabric for each napkin in the desired napkin size--12" x 12" is a nice size.

2. Serger the raw edges with a rolled hem, or turn under the raw edges use a regular machine stitch to finish.

3. To add design to the napkin, cut a design from a coordinating printed fabric. Place a larger scrap of fabric stabilizer on the top of the napkin then position the cutout design on top of it.

4. Use a regular machine to zigzag satin stitch around the perimeter of the cutout, sewing through the stabilizer (figure A).

5. Press the cutout design with a hot iron, lightly burning the excess stabilizer. Brush away the excess stabilizer.

Place Cards & Invitations

Decorate place cards or invitations using fancy stitch settings on your sewing machine. Stitch a piece of card stock with a colorful thread design, fold and write on appropriate message. Further embellish by gluing or stitching on fabric cutouts. It's easy and the results are fabulous!
