3. Place foil on embossing mat and outline image with a wooden or plastic embossing stylus (figure C).

4. Remove foil from mat and turn foil over so inked image is facing the table. Using a stylus outline the "raised" embossed lines – this will help define the embossed image (figure D).

5. Attach sticky tape to back of foil and adhere to frame (figure E).

6. When all the pieces have been embossed and adhered to frame, color with pens (figure F).

7. Color will be "touch" dry in approximately one hour but should be left overnight before moving.

Tips:

  • When purchasing a stamp, choose a size which will work well with your frame. Calculate how many stamped pieces your frame will require. Square frames are often the easiest to match with a rubber stamp because the foil pieces can generally all be made to the same size.

  • When coloring with Gelly Roll Glaze pens, always complete an area. If you try to go over the color when it is still tacky, it will remove the ink and leave a rough surface. You can however add more color when the ink has dried.

  • If some "beading" of the ink occurs simply continue to add color, it will soon correct itself.
Allow the glaze pen to "glide" over the foil surface. Avoid pressing down as you would with a regular pen.
