Spring Has Sprung

Materials:

12" x 12" background paper
12" x 12" white vellum
2" flower punch
3/4" circle punch
white cardstock
black cardstock
embossing stylus
scissors
pen
acid-free adhesive

Figure A

Steps:

  1. Punch the flower out of black cardstock for easy viewing under the vellum. Punch the circle from white cardstock and adhere to the black flower, creating your 'template' to emboss.

  2. Place punched flower under the vellum along the lower edge, beginning on the left.

  3. Use the embossing stylus to partially trace around the pattern. Then, shift the template down and a little to the right, allowing it to overlap the open part of the tracing you just completed. Partially trace the pattern again. Continue repeating the pattern as you move farther to the right and up and down to complete the border design across the vellum.

Figure B

  • Using scissors, cut away the lower edge of the vellum to create a lacy border effect.

  • Punch out more circles from the white cardstock, and then adhere behind the vellum flower centers.

  • Trim the vellum to 11-1/4" x 11-1/4" and adhere to background paper, leaving a border around the edge.

  • Figure C

  • Mat photos with white cardstock, and then adhere to the top of the vellum.

  • To finish the page, add a journaling block and additional embossed accents.
