Project by Erin Stevens from Hermitage, Tenn.

Erin Stevens creates a paper clay ring that is placed on a pillar candle.

Materials:

paper clay
plastic knife
Stampin' Up Stampin' Around Wheel and Handle
pillar candle
small rolling pin
wax paper
hole punch
ribbon
Stampin' Up classic ink pad
sponge
3/8" black grosgrain ribbon

Steps:

1. Roll out a piece of wax paper.

2. Cut a section of paper clay (figure A) and roll it out onto wax paper using a rolling pin (figure B).

3. Roll a straight line with the Stampin' Up Stampin' Around Wheel on top of the rolled-out paper clay (figure C).

4. Trim down the sides of the rolled paper clay using a plastic knife. The rolled paper clay shrinks as it dries, so make it a little longer to wrap around the candle (figure D).

5. Rub the sponge onto the inkpad and lightly dab onto the rolled paper clay (figure E).

6. Punch a hole in each end of the rolled paper clay using the plastic knife.

7. Wrap the rolled paper clay around the candle and let it air dry (figure F).

8. When dry, thread ribbon through both holes and tie a bow on the front of the candle (figure G).
