Simply Quilts tours the 'Take 2: Quilts in Two Colors' exhibit at San Jose Museum of Quilts and Textiles. The historical and contemporary trends of two-color quilts contribute to its enduring popularity. The collection is comprised of 20 two-color quilts. Blue and white quilts from circa 1840 were very popular in America and usually featured an intricately pieced design. Around 1880, red and white quilt combinations became popular.

Quilting expert Alex Anderson suggests making a 'non-traditional' two-color quilt with the primary color selected from an assortment of shades of a single color. The results will be impressive!
