Small Space, Big Style : Episode HSSBS-413 -- More Projects »
From eclectic decor to traditional charm, style is different to each person. See four homes with different tastes: a cottage in Florida has a green motif; a New York apartment is full of hidden storage; a D.C. space boasts an amazing view and a very modern space is perfect San Francisco.

Shotgun Cottage
In a neighborhood of McMansions, Kristen Smith's and Eric Russo's tiny cottage has held its ground for almost a century. As first-time homebuyers on a budget, they purchased the worst home (a former motorcycle shack) in a favorite neighborhood with determination to fix it up on sweat equity alone. They've transformed the dilapidated space into what Smith declares "seaside chic."

Aesthetically Pleasing Storage
Next: Color Story
Storage is essential. To gain extra space, the homeowners enclosed the front porch to create an entryway and added a self-made, built-in storage unit. Smith lined the top of the cabinet with plants for an aesthetically pleasing front to all she hides behind the greenery. The fish tank was another way to add a visually pleasing element to the cabinet.
