Tiny Spaces

Organization and creativity are key to living in tiny spaces.

Small Space, Big Style : Episode HSSBS-401 -- More Projects »
Moving to a small space doesn’t mean you have to skimp on style. A relocated L.A. couple decorates their New York small space. A delightful D.C. pad finds storage solutions, 12 people bring unique style in a Boston house, and an Italian designer gives some international flair to his tiny space.

Storage Central
Jenny Rogers and Clove Galilee lived in Los Angeles for six years before moving to New York, and they really missed the California lifestyle. But when they walked into this 500-square-foot space, they found a little piece of the West Coast. Huge windows and an outdoor area that nearly doubled their living space sold them on the space. Unfortunately, then it was time to deal with the mess left behind from the previous tenant: 45 years of nicotine that stained the walls, and 12 cats that stained everything else.

All About the Window
This huge window in their living room is the focal point of their apartment. The sectional sofa and in fact all of their furniture is low enough that it doesn't obstruct the view to the window. The living room is also their bedroom, with a Murphy bed hidden behind the tapestry on the righthand wall. Stackable bookshelves on each side give the look of built-ins at a much lower cost.
