Photo tie
Materials:
chosen photographs
scissors
Photo-To-Fabric transfer paper
sponge brush
plain neck tie
fabric paint
glitter
glitter paint
Steps:
*Note: The Photo-To-Fabric photo transfer glue used on air has been discontinued. The written instructions incorporate the use of Photo-To-Fabric transfer paper.
1. Photocopy chosen colored photos onto transfer paper and cut the images out.
2. Place the images on the transfer paper face down onto the tie. Iron over the images then peel away the paper.
3. Outline the images with fabric paint.
4. If desired, sprinkle glitter onto the wet paint.
5. Write names and dates on the tie with glitter paint. Let dry.
Jeweled tie
Materials:
flat-backed jewels
plain neck tie
fabric paint
paintbrush
Loctite Quick Tite super glue
Steps:
1. Glue flat-baked jewels onto the front of the tie.
2. Add paint strokes in between the jewels. Let dry.
Glitter tie
Materials:
Peel n' Stick double-sided adhesive - Therm O Web
scissors
glitter
plain neck tie
Steps:
1. Cut shapes from double-sided adhesive. Remove the paper from one side of each shape and apply the shapes to the front of the tie.
2. Remove the paper from the front of each shape. Pour glitter onto the shapes and shake off the excess.
Light tie
Materials:
black neck tie
miniature light set with battery pack
scissors
velco strip
super glue
Steps:
1. Insert the light set's battery pack into the opening at the bottom of the tie (figure A). Secure the pack to the inside of the tie using a velcro strip.
2. Cut small slits in the front of the tie and poke the lights through the strips (figure B).
