Cabbage Leaf Bowl

Materials

Loose Ends cabbage leaves #61360
Loose Ends French onion braid #77562
bowl
aluminum foil
Beacon's Liquid Laminate
hot glue sticks
glue gun

Steps:

1. Wrap bowl with aluminum foil as tightly as possible (figure A).

2. Turn the bowl upside down and curve one cabbage leaf from the bottom of the bowl pointing to the top rim of the bowl.

3. Place another leaf on top of the first, bending in the same way. Paint Liquid Laminate to the bottom of the second leaf and apply it to the first leaf (figure B).

4. Continue around the bowl until you have formed a leaf bowl around the base bowl.

5. Place another row of leaves on top of the first row, but start over the seams of the first row and laminate in the same way (figure C).

6. Apply two leaves to the bottom of the bowl, finishing the bottom of the piece (figure D).

7. Let dry about two hours or until completely dry.

8. Remove six French onions from the braid and hot glue them to the bottom of the bowl. Place one in the center and the others around that one (figure E).

Materials

small piece of florist foam
hot glue sticks
glue gun

Steps:

1. Cut top of cabbage open. Make a 4-inch circle in the top, and clean out the stuffing (figure F).

2. Place the bag of gravel in the bottom of the opening (figure G).

3. Glue the floral foam on the top of the bag. This should not go above the top of the opening in the cabbage (figure H).

4. Cut the flower head from the stem of the crinkle hydrangea. Leave a 4-inch stem at the base of the flower head.

5. Take the flower apart and fluff. Then place them in the floral foam. Continue until you have used all the flowers (figure I).

6. Use several of these in a row down the center of the table.
