Twinkie Groom
Make easy and decorative Twinkie people using traditional cake decorating techniques. Not only is dressing up these snack cakes fun...you can eat all your mistakes!

Cake Decorating Tips

  • Always mix enough icing of one color to avoid having to re-mix later.
  • Add color gradually to icing.
  • Do not fill icing bags with more than 1/2 to 3/4 cup of icing.
  • Keep the top of your icing bag twisted shut as you decorate.
  • Applied pressure on the icing bag determines icing flow.
  • A turntable is great for reaching all sides of a cake without changing your position.
  • Food coloring paste is best for tinting icing because is doesn't water down the icing like liquid food coloring does.
  • The last thing you want is a soggy Twinkie!
  • An angled spatula will help keep your knuckles and sleeves from touching the cake's icing.
  • Purchase a wide array of icing tips so you can be imaginative with your confectionary characters.
