Floral expert Dia Collins shows how to transform wilting floral arrangements into beautiful new crafts.
Dried Flower Mobile Materials:
sunflower stems
floral tape
decorative ribbon
dried floral arrangements
Steps:
- Cross two recycled sunflower stems in an "X" fashion and secure in the middle with floral tape.
- Wrap the stems completely in decorative ribbon. At the ends, flip the ribbon through (like a half knot) and pull tight.
- Bunch together dried flowers into small arrangements, then hang them at various heights from the ribbon ends. There is no limit to the amount of flowers, the type or the length at which you want them to hang. Use your imagination!
Dried Petal Wall Hanging Materials:
clear sticky-back shelf paper
dried flower petals, blossoms and leaves
scissors
ribbon
tape
Steps:
- Peel the backing from one piece of shelf paper and lay it sticky side up.
- Remove blossoms and leaves from stems. Press all the blossoms you want to feature in any arrangement on the paper with your fingers.
- Place a second sheet of shelf paper sticky side down on top of the arranged blossoms. Don't worry about centering the sheets exactly because you can trim them later. Press out from the center with your fingers to smooth.
- Cut out each design and connect with ribbon to create a door or wall hanging. Use large, rectangular sheets to create incredible place mats.
