Turn a notebook binder into a greeting-card center that includes pockets for each month of the year.

Professional organizer Cyndi Seidler shows how to get greeting cards in order.
  • Designate a desk or wall calendar specifically for birthdays. Since birthdays don't change, it can be a calendar recycled from the previous year. Mark the days in festive colors.

  • Use a notebook binder to save space in the home while organizing special occasions by designating it as a greeting-card center. Fill out information on the people who will get cards that month (for birthdays, anniversaries, etc.) on the pocket front. Keep the greeting cards in the jacket pocket. Use twelve jackets to signify each month of the year.

  • It's always helpful to list all greeting-card occasions on a single sheet and keep it in a binder or someplace handy.

  • A shoebox or other container and card stock can be used to organize the months of the year, with the greeting cards filed away in order.

  • These suggestions are perfect for the person that wants to buy greeting cards in advance. Also, having greeting cards on hand and organized is the best way to prevent forgetting an important occasion.
