The first few products featured in this episode were created with the quilter in mind, but almost anyone who does a lot of crafting, especially that which requires fabric, scissors and thread, would most likely find the items to be of interest.
Smart Store(discontinued) from June Tailor (
figure A) is a length of hemmed muslin that fits over the end of the ironing board. It has pockets on both sides for thread, glue, scissors, etc. The top features a small pillow pincushion.
Also from June Tailor is an item called Sew Station (
figure B). It is a large muslin-covered Teflon and padded piece to place under the sewing machine to prevent it from "walking" and to reduce machine noise. The padding and Teflon make it suitable for pressing. The surface has a grid printed on it, pockets that hang down the side can hold a variety of sewing needs, and a loop in the corner can hold scissors.
Among the many totes that have been designed specifically for crafters is the Quilter's Tote, another June Tailor product. This large briefcase-type holder/carrier features large outside vinyl pockets and many pockets inside. Also included is a large gridded pressing pad.
Tote number two was from Fiskars. Called Hobby Holder, it too is basically a briefcase for crafters, artists, sewers, scrapbookers and quilters to help organize the tools of these respective trades. The Hobby Holder also features outside pockets (although they're not see-through) and inside are many, many small pockets for scissors, rubber stamps, stamp pads, etc., available in two sizes.
Of interest to those who have struggled with some of the metallic pens on the market are the Metallic Rolling Ball Fine Line Pens from Sailor. These pens that actually write without first shaking them - and running the risk of spilling great drops of ink on your paper. The pens are available in opaque white, silver and gold.
Another addition to the metallic ink pens are those called Gelly Roll from Sakura. In addition to the traditional gold and silver ink, these ball-point pens are available in many other colors.
