Apply a facial mask with a gentle upward motion.
Skin-care specialist Tisha Lugliani provides a lesson on and a recipe for homemade facial masks.

There are a variety of skin-care products on the market for various skin types and preferences. Following are a few examples:

Mud mask--Use to tighten facial skin, bring impurities and toxins to the surface and encourage blood circulation.

Medicated gel mask--Use to combat acne and/or dry skin.

Clay mask--Use to help alleviate acne; can be used even if you have oily skin.

The following masks can be made at home:

Dry Skin Mask

Ingredients:

5 drops rose oil
2 tsp. almond oil
2 Tbs. honey

Preparation:

Mix all ingredients in a small bowl. Spread a light mask all over the face. Leave on for 15 to 20 minutes, then rinse with warm water, followed by cold water (to close the pores). Be sure that the facial skin is clean before applying the mask. This also works great on the backside of hands.

Egg-White Mask

Ingredients:

2 egg whites
1 vitamin E capsule
pinch of raw sugar

Preparation:

Beat ingredients into a nice froth. Apply to the face in an upward sweeping motion. Leave the mask for 15 to 20 minutes. The mask will feel tight. Be sure to apply to the neck as well. If the mask feels exceptionally tight, loosen with a steam towel before rinsing. Again, rinse with warm, then cold water.
