It's always fun to pore thru the newer craft books on the market and today's book segment was no exception.

Up first was a different type of book on knitting called Knitting on the Edge, written by Nicky Epstein and published by Sixth and Spring Books. The title of the book is meant to be taken literally, because it's all about edging...ribbing, lace, ruffles, etc. It shows and explains a variety of ways to edge those sweaters and afghans and scarves, etc. Along the way there are many unusual ideas (a ruffled purse is a surprise) as well as a very informative section showing swatches of knitting using one pattern and the totally different looks and textures you get depending on the yarn used. cds1812_4c The photographs are excellent.
