Byrd shares how she uses the clay to decorate her fantastical figures.
The cure for a "bad day"? Staring at one of Teri Byrd's clay creations. They instantly take you to a fairy-tale place and delight grown-up kids with their simplicity, charm and intricate detail. In a small studio in her home, Byrd creates fairies, kitchen imps, garden fairies, mermaids, Santas and his elves, plus one-of-a-kind figurines, all by rolling, blending, stretching, cutting and baking polymer clay. Her artwork instantly brings a smile. Her inspiration comes from a variety of places--like the acrobatic group showcased on her studio calendar, or the "characters" that arrive at the county fair, like the bearded lady.
