Materials

Kato Polyclay - violet, black

Bindi tin with a glass lid (available in most bead and craft stores)
small photograph or artwork printed with an inkjet printer on regular paper
combination pin/pendant vail (Fire Mountain Gems)
assorted beads, pearls, crystal and charms
parchment paper
clay blade
clay dedicated pasta machine
craft knife
tweezers
scissors
smooth ceramic tile work surface
piece of card board
circle template
needle tool or toothpick

Condition clay thoroughly by kneading or rolling through the pasta machine for several minutes before starting.

2. Roll out a 2" x 4" sheet of black clay through the largest setting of the pasta machine. Cut this in half and stack it to make a double thick layer.

4. Place about 4-5 charms, beads, etc. over the center of the picture. Optional: One or two of the inclusions may be glued down to a small piece of clay that is glued onto the image with the Poly Bonder.

7. Texture the black clay with a scouring pad. Apply mica powder over the textured clay with your fingertip.

10. Using Poly Bonder, glue a thin strip of white clay rolled through the fifth largest setting of the pasta machine, horizontally across the top third of the pendant back. Be very careful to not apply pressure on the back since the clay can be collapsed into the lid. Glue the pin/pendant finding over the clay strip. Cut another small strip with a "V" in it and glue over the center of the pin bar. Bake on a piece of polyester batting at 275-degrees Fahrenheit for 40 minutes. A chain can then be added for wear as a pendant.
