Steps 1-3
1. Hold the commercial bisque plate upside down and flick it with your fingers to test to see if the ringing sound is consistent. If the "pinging" sound is flat in a certain spot the plate most likely has a crack in it and is not recommended for this process.

2. Hold the plate firmly and drill a hanging hole in the back of the plate with a power drill fitted with a carbide-tipped drill bit.

3. Wipe away any dust with a damp sponge and let the plate dry.
