Steps 6-7
6. Let the plate dry overnight. Touch up tong marks by removing the excess glaze around these points gently with a knife and applying additional glaze. Level the additional glaze with the knife and remove any glaze drips because these could produce a wavy surface once the plate is fired.

7. Remove the glaze from the drilled hole with a needle tool. Wipe glaze from the foot of the plate with a damp upholstery sponge as glaze left on the bottom will stick to the shelf while being fired.
