Origami is the Eastern art of making paper sculptures. On this episode, guest Joyce Aystra, owner of Live Your Dreams Design, walks through the steps for origami pop-up cards that can be constructed with any desired paper.
Steps:
- Find a design you like.
- Make drawing on graph paper. Joyce uses black colored pencil to indicate the cut lines, orange to indicate where paper should be folded up, and green for where it's to be folded down.
- Tape down on light box.
- Put an acetate sheet over the drawing to help prevent cutting through to the drawing.
- Put card stock on top, trace the design, and cut the appropriate lines with an X-Acto knife.
