Some of her more contemporary pieces, designed as wall art, feature such unusual items as potholders, parts of tennis shoes, a belt, raffia or seeds. The materials contained in all of Nancy's quilts are from different parts of the world: Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas. Using a sewing machine, she collages, cuts up and reassembles over and over before she rests with a final assembly. Aggressive topstitching lends dimension.
