Materials:
canyon scissors
wavy-edge scissors
paper trimmer from Fiskars or straight-edge scissors
circle cutter or circle template
small circle punch
stickers
stationery
note card
ruler
pencil
colored papers
adhesive
booklet - Cutin' Up #5062 - optional
Steps:
Flowers on Stationery:
- Cut blue flower (page 16) using circle template and wavy-edge scissors.
- Cut green leaves using canyon scissors.
- Combine flowers and leaves to decorate stationery or scrapbook page.
Faces:
- Cut circles using circle template or circle cutter for face and hair.
- Cut hair for boy using scallop scissors.
- Punch circles for ears.
Tips:
- Very thin paper strips for stems will curve when glued down.
- Keep scissors and punches sharpened by cutting through fine sandpaper or aluminum foil.
- Turn wavy-edge scissors over to create various designs.
- Use these techniques to turn tiny pieces of scrap paper into cute decorations.
- Never cut to the end of the scissors.
- Draw light guidelines on the back of the paper or card stock using a pencil.
- Always cut a larger circle than you need, then trim with wavy-edge scissors.
- Use a corsage pin to apply glue to small paper designs.
