Helma Groot is originally from Holland. Her family moved to the states and coincidentally moved to Holland, Mich. She made her first mobile in 1992 at the request of a friend who had a space for one in their house. Since then, she has made many more, including a very large mobile featuring boats, fish and birds for a public space in her native Netherlands!
