Twisting Heart
Materials:
rubber stamps - Rubber Nature ArtStamps
- dimensional heart - #99-6-4G
- twist - #T2-8D
Vivid Dye inks - Clearsnap
- rasberry
- straw
Steps:
1. Base coat the heart stamp with straw-colored ink.
2. Ink the twist stamp with raspberry-colored ink and position the it directly on the heart stamp. Twist the twist stamp 45 degrees. Lift and repeat the technique, re-inking the twist stamp as desired to insure color intensity.
3. Stamp the image on white paper.
Twisty Frame
Materials:
stamps - Rubber Nature ArtStamps
- rectangle frame with oval opening - #AW14-2G
- twist - #T2001-4-7E
Vivid Dye ink - Clearsnap
- straw
- teal
1. Base coat the frame stamp with straw-colored ink.
2. Ink the twist stamp with teal-colored ink. Position it on one corner of the frame stamp. Using moderate pressure, turn the twist stamp 45 degrees. Lift it and reposition it to another part of the corner. Turn again 45 degrees.
3. Clean the twist stamp off (so as not to contaminate the ink pad) and re-ink . Repeat step #2 in each remaining corner of the frame.
4. Stamp the image on white paper (figure B).
Tip: Treat each corner and side area the same to insure symmetrical color and design continuity.
Pressing Patterns: Maple Leaf
Materials:
rubber stamps - Rubber Nature ArtStamps
- bold image maple leaf - #RN2000 -6-6E
- wavy ball press stamp - #T2-10F
ColorBox confetti pigment ink option pad - Clearsnap
1. Base coat the maple leaf stamp with marigold-colored ink.
2. Ink the wavy ball press stamp with all colors except black.
3. Press the wavy ball stamp onto the rubber of the leaf. Lift and press repeatedly while rotating the image stamp to allow for a more even distribution of color.
4. Stamp the image on white paper (figure C).
Tip: Omit black ink when working with a variety of other colors because the black ink will diminish the other colors.
Slide Designs: Square Frame
rubber stamps - Rubber Nature ArtStamps
- square frame with round opening - #AW14-5H
- big slide stamp - #T899-S-2H
inks - Clearsnap
- Copperswift
- Pheasant Gold Metalextra
1. Base coat the frame stamp with Copperswift ink.
2. Ink the slide stamp with Pheasant Gold Metalextra ink and position it at one end of the frame stamp.
3. Using moderate pressure, and while keeping the two rubber surfaces parallel, slide the slide stamp in toward the image center. Lift and repeat this process on the other end of the frame stamp.
4. Stamp the image on white paper (figure D).
Re-Using Stamps Frame
Materials:
rubber stamps - Rubber Nature ArtStamp
- square frame with round opening - #AW14-5H
- big slide stamp - #T899-S-2H
Vivid Dye inks - Clearsnap
- orchid
stylus tool
Steps:
1. Clean the frame stamp and base coat it with Orchid Vivid Dye Ink.
2. Do not clean or re-ink the slide stamp. Work with the "leftover" ink.
3. Starting at the lower right or left-hand corner of the frame, slide the slide stamp at an angle in toward the center of the frame. Repeat this process in the remaining three corners, rotating the frame stamp and the slide stamp as desired.
4. To insure a clean edge line, ink a soft-tipped stylus tool with orchid-colored ink and tap the inked stylus tool around the border of the image stamp.
5. Stamp on white paper.
Tip: For quick and easy creative color and design effects, repeat steps 1 through 4 several times using a variety of base coat ink colors and a variety of slide angles .
Angle and Drag Leaf
rubber stamps - Rubber Nature ArtStamp
- leaf stamp - #2000-9-3G
- small watercolor angle & drag stamp - #T-99-3-8E
ColorBox petal point pigment inks
- teal
- ruby
- turquoise
- midnight
- eggplant
Steps:
1. Create a multi-color base coat on the leaf stamp by randomly inking it with the first four colors listed for this sample.
2. Ink the watercolor stamp with eggplant-colored ink.
3. Position the watercolor stamp at a 45-degree angle and using moderate to heavy pressure, drag it through the image. Repeat. The image will almost look "ink free."
4. Stamp the image. Repeat as many times as desired. Often, the second stamping is the nicest for this special effect due to the softness of the color.
Angle and Drag Background
rubber stamps - Rubber Nature ArtStamp
- Mini blank palette - #RN4-3D
- Angle and drag stamp - #T-RN15-E
ColorBox PaintBox pigment Ink - Clearsnap
- canary and scarlet
1. Base coat the mini blank palette with canary-colored ink.
2. Ink the angle and drag stamp with scarlet-colored ink. Lay the color down color on the palette stamp by pressing the angle and drag stamp flatly onto the rubber of the palette.
3. Hold the angle and drag stamp at an acute angle (approximately 45 degrees). Position one of the longest sides of the stamp at the upper edge of the palette and drag it (using moderate to heavy pressure) through the image using a zigzag motion.
4. Stamp the image on white paper (figure G).
