Project designed by Ana Araujo.
Materials:
Limited Edition rubber stamps:
- triangle, circle or house book stamp
black dye-based ink pad
water-based markers
20 lb. paper any color
stylus
6" ruler
glue stick
scissors
stiff cardboard
foam place mat
color copies of photos reduced 20 to 30 percent
Steps:
Note: The three books are all done in a similar fashion. The key is to line the ruler with the broken dotted lines and score with a stylus. The stamps are two-sided with the cover on one side and the inside pages on the other side.
- Stamp the cover on paper.
- Stamp the inside pages two to four times on either color copies of photos or paper.
- Using a stylus, line up the ruler along the broken lines on the cover and score. Repeat the scoring for the inside pages too.
- Cut out cover and all inside pages. Turn over cover and fold in the scored flaps.
- Using the cover template, trace two on stiff cardboard and cut out.
- Glue the cardboard to the inside of the cover, lining it up with the folded flaps. Glue the flaps over the cardboard. Repeat for the other side.
- Glue down two small square flaps in the center of the binding.
- Set aside the cover.
- To make the inside pages, fold the pages in half and glue back to back. Each of the three books has a different-shaped page, but the page construction is basically the same.
Note: Each book stamp comes with a set of instructions. Each one has something unique due to the variation in the shapes.
