Make these three-dimensional scrapbook pages using squares of patterned paper and a triangle fold technique. Once you get the hang of it, it's easy! Before working with more expensive paper, practice making the triangles using squares of plain copy paper.

Triangle Fold Open Wreath

Materials:

eight 2-1/2" squares of patterned paper
photo-safe adhesive

Steps:

1. With the pattern side of the paper facing up, fold the bottom part of the square over the top part of the square, creating a rectangle.

2. Turn the rectangle lengthwise (crease side facing left), and fold the rectangle in half to create a square.

3. Open the paper to make it flat, and turn it over with the pattern side down.

4. Fold the square into a triangle with the crease facing upward, letting the pattern side of the paper show.

5. Open the paper, and fold it into another triangle with the crease facing downward.

6. Holding the folded corners in either hand, push with your fingers toward the center. Move the flap in your left hand toward the back, and bring the flap in your right hand forward. This will form a layered triangle.

7. Holding the two triangles with closed points facing in the same direction, slide the front of one triangle between two flaps of another triangle.

8. Snuggle the triangles up so the inserted triangle is into the other triangle as far as it will go, making the point flush with the longest edge.

9. Secure the triangle with adhesive.

10. Repeat these steps with all remaining squares of paper.

11. Slide the first triangle into the last triangle to form a wreath.

Pointed Petal Corner Fold

Materials:

eight 5" squares of patterned paper
photo-safe adhesive

Steps:

7. Bring top right flap down to the left side.

8. Fold the top edge of the flap down along the center line and crease.

9. Slide your finger between the remaining left flaps.

10. Bring the top left flap to the right side.

11. Fold the top edge of the right flap down along the center line and crease.

12. Bring the top right flap to the left side.

13. Holding the two pieces with closed points facing the same direction, place the flap of one piece into the space between the flap and diamond shape of the other.

14. Snuggle the pieces up so that the long open end of the inserted piece is flush with the edge of the diamond of the other piece.

15. Secure the petals with adhesive.

16. Repeat with the remaining squares, sliding the first piece into the last piece to finish.

Tip: Practice the triangle fold using plain 8-1/2" x 11" pieces of paper. To get a square shape, fold the paper in a triangle and cut off the end.
