Guest Jane Beard demonstrates how to make easy and nostalgic little games using glass-lidded spice tins, rubber-stamped paper and assorted fillers.

Materials:

Love-o-Meter stamp #K-1028
Question Big Border stamp #F-1029
3" square white card stock
7" x 3/4" strip of colored paper or ribbon
2" wide circle of contrasting colored paper
2" diameter glass-lidded tin container
ball bearing
1-3/4" wide circle of foam board or corrugated cardboard
scissors
craft knife
ruler
pencil
1/8" hole punch
ink pad
markers or colored pencils
double-stick tape or glue stick

Steps:

1. Stamp the Love-o-Meter onto white card stock and color as desired (figure A).

2. Place the lid of the tin over the image and trace the lid's shape onto the image (figure B). Trim the image just smaller than the traced line.

3. Punch a hole in each section of the image (six holes), plus a hole in the very center.

4. Glue the foam board or cardboard into the bottom of the tin (figure C).

5. Glue the circle of contrasting paper in place over the board.

6. Glue the trimmed Love-o-Meter in place on the foam board. Be sure no tape or glue shows through the punched holes.

7. Place a ball bearing in the tin and put the lid on it.

8. Stamp the Question Border onto the strip of colored paper and tape or glue it around the outer edge to seal it closed (figure D).
