Wayne's Woodenware bench #993
Lapis Pattern Accentuations Rub-ons
square wooden pieces

Steps:
1. Measure out 5-inch corner squares on top of bench. Measure 1-1/2 inch squares on the top, connecting the larger squares.
2. Stain the diagonal squares on top in the true blue. Stain the opposite squares with ice blue. Stain the inside part of the bench with burnished gold. Stain the sides of the bench true blue, and stain the end parts of the bench ice blue (figure A). Let dry overnight.
3. Stain the square wood pieces with burnished gold and ice blue.
4. Cut out two of the flowers and two of the medallions. Place a flower in one square and a medallion in the other square. Remove the backing sheet and center it in the square.
5. Rub the pattern down in the corner using a craft stick (figure B). Rub gently until the whole rub-on has adhered. With the tissue backing, gently rub over the design. Continue until all the squares have been done.
6. Cut out the mosaic inlay and transfer this on the side pieces next to the squares (figure C). Continue until all the top is finished.
7. Cut out the big medallion and put this in the center of the bench. Transfer as usual.
8. Take the squares and put the egg shaped rub-ons on the burnished gold squares (figure D). Glue them onto the side of the bench.
Tips:
- Be creative by using different pieces of the design.
- You can embellish the bench with as much or as little as you desire.
- No varnish is necessary as the markers are permanent.
