Materials:
terra cotta pot with saucer
one wooden ball
glass fish bowl
E6000 glue
gesso

Americana paints
- light buttermilk
- Santa red
- evergreen Hauser light green
- napa red
- black
- moon yellow
- clear varnish
- painter's tape
Steps:
1. Remove any stickers or tags attached to the terra cotta pot and clean the pots throughly with a wet rag to remove any dirt or dust. Let dry.
2. Apply a coat of gesso to the pot and saucer. Let dry.
3. Apply several coats of acrylic paint to the pot and saucer. Allow paint to dry between coats.
4. Stencil designs onto the pot and saucer (figures A and B). Let dry for 24 to 48 hours.
5. Apply at least two coats of varnish to the pot and saucer, allowing time to dry between coats.
6. Turn the pot upside down and attach a glass fish bowl with E6000 glue to the bottom of the pot. Glue a wooden ball to the inside of the saucer (figure C). Let dry for at least 12 hours.
7. Fill the fish bowl with candy or cookies. Place the saucer onto the opening of the fish bowl (figure D).
