Mediterranean Stamped-Tile Door Frame Figure A Figure B

Renai Ellison shows how to add a beautiful Mediterranean-style stamped-tile treatment to a door frame.

Materials:

sponges
scissors
foam brushes
acrylic paints in various colors

Steps:

1. Cut the sponges into squares.
   
   
2. If you want more texture in your tile, pull small pieces of the sponge out.
   
   
3. Using a foam brush, coat the sponge with one color of acrylic paint (figure A).
   
   
4. Practice on a board a couple of times before painting your wall.
   
   
5. Press the sponge onto the wall, making sure to apply pressure on all corners of the sponge (figure B).
   
   
6. Use a different foam brush for each color of paint.
   
   
7. You can leave as is, or you can overlay one color on another.
