Rick Spence is a Detroit native and Michigan State alumnus. He comes from a big, loud, Italian and Polish family. He started his television career while working as a technology analyst for Gartner Group providing live business analysis from Silicon Valley for NBC and ABC during the technology boom of the 1990s.
Later Spence hosted an internationally syndicated technology show for several years and was nominated for an Emmy Award in 1997. He has extensive on-air experience in television and radio with several major networks and also works behind the camera as a producer, writer and editor.
Besides hosting Curb Appeal, Spence is also president and CEO of AVT Pro Inc., a Silicon Valley production company and is a featured writer for publications such as Mix, Audio Media and TV Technology. In his off time, he enjoys playing baseball and is the drummer in rock band Minus-4, a San Francisco Bay area band.
