Maverick Quilts & Louisa May Alcott Block
Travel with the Simply Quilts camera crew to view a portion of Julie Silber's amazing quilt collection. The cameras focus on her "mavericks," the ones that just don't fit easily into any category. Afterward, host Alex Anderson is joined in the studio by author and quilt artist Kaye England. England demonstrates a block from her book about historical women who broke the mold - the Louisa May Alcott block. England discusses the supplies needed for the quilt, then explains how to cut and assemble various parts of the block, and offers tips for piecing efficiently.
