Figure A

  • Saute fresh spinach in olive oil and garlic until slightly wilted. Place on top of a frozen pizza. Top with additional cheese. You can also add 1/2 cup of freshly chopped tomato and bake as directed (figure A).

Figure B

  • Frozen stir-fry vegetables and chicken really kick up regular boxed rice (figure B). Sprinkle with teriyaki sauce and/or tamari soy sauce for added flavor.

  • Figure C

  • Frozen burritos become enchiladas when placed in a baking dish, covered with enchilada sauce and cheese (figure C), and baked in an oven at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes.

  • Figure D

  • Try adding salsa and corn to Spanish-flavored rice (figure D). Prepare the rice as directed and then add one can of drained corn and 1/2 cup salsa.

  • Figure E

  • Doctoring up a plain white cake (figure E) is amazingly easy. Here's how:

    Ice Cream Cake

    Ingredients:

1 box plain white cake mix
2 cups melted ice cream, any flavor you like
    3 large eggs

    Preparation:

Mix all three ingredients in a large bowl. Beat with an electric mixer on low speed for one minute, then on medium for two minutes or until well blended.

Pour into a greased and floured pan. Bake at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean, and cake just pulls away from the side of the pan. Let cool and frost with your favorite frosting.
